The schmooze is held in the Community Room on the second floor. Locate the Community Room at http://www.smpl.org/features/. If you find yourself lost and alone and wandering through the library, just ask one of the friendly and helpful uniformed library attendants for directions!

Parking
The library has plenty of underground parking. The parking entrance is located on 7th Street. It costs .50 per half hour ($1.00/hour) to park in the lot. There is also metered parking on surrounding streets.

The Westside Illustrators is a dynamic and talented group of artists formed under the auspices of the SCBWI-LA. Our purpose is to build a community of local illustrators all working toward the same goal: initial and continuing success as children's book illustrators.

Special Project:

For the annual May 2006 Critique Schmooze, Stephanie Brown and Ken Min came up with a fun project: illustrating Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories.* Artists from the SCBWI-LA San Fernando Valley and Westside Illustrator Schmoozes were challenged to illustrate scenes from the twelve fantastic tales.
