Chad W. Beckerman: Art Director, Abrams Books for Young Readers and Amulet Books - Chad graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2000 with a BFA in illustration. Before becoming Art Director of Abrams Books for Young Readers and Amulet Books, he worked for Greenwillow and Scholastic. Chad designed and art directed the bestselling Diary of a Wimpy Kid series; The Last Apprentice series; Iggy Peck, Architect; The Dog That Belonged to No One; All in a Day, and The Jellybeans. Chad is also a working illustrator whose credits include many YA covers such as Fell; Scream of the Whitebears, and Anahita’s Woven Riddle. Adam McCauley: Illustrator - Adam is an award-winning editorial and children's book illustrator. His titles include Mom and Dad are Palindromes by Mark Shulman (Chronicle Books), and Oh No, Not Ghosts! by Richard Michelson (Harcourt), which were both designed by his wife, Cynthia Wigginton. Adam illustrated Jon Scieszka's Time Warp Trio series and the Gym Shorts series by Betty Hicks. His most recent picture books are June & August (Abrams) by Vivian Walsh and The Monsterologist: A Memoir in Rhyme by Bobbi Katz, which won the gold medal at the Society of Illustrators in 2008. Contest Rules & Guidelines*
1. You must be a member of the SCBWI and registered for this conference.
2. You may submit one (1) postcard design (be sure to include both front and back images).
3. Your submission must conform to the following specs for both the front and the back:
- PDF file format, 300 dpi resolution
- 4 inches x 6 inches plus an 1/8 inch bleed (the final document sizeshould be 4.25 inches x 6.25 inches)
- CMYK color mode for both sides
4. You may enter once only.
5. No submissions will be returned.

Portfolio Display & Contests:
Illustrator's Day portfolios are showcased all day, allowing attendees and art buyers plenty of time for viewing. Participation in the display and contests is free!
To maximize your experience, here's what you need to know:
- Only 8.5" x 11" portfolios of work will be accepted.
- NO easels, collapsible walls or over-size books will be accepted for display.
- Be remembered! Bring samples, no larger than 8.5" x 11", business cards or postcards for potential art buyers.
- Prizes will be awarded in two categories. A "People's Choice Award" and a "Professional Choice Award". Prizes will be awarded to the top three vote getters in each category.
